How to make a Christmas wreath
You will need the following:
Natural rattan wreath
Florist wire
Metallic wire stick 0.50mm
Secretors
Wire cutters
Ribbon
Sprigs of evergreen such as holly, spruce, pinecones, rosehips, other alternatives to use are hedging conifers, rosemary, ivy, euonymus or yew. If you don’t have a rattan wreath, simply cut willow or hazel stems and shape the stems into a circle, tie together to make a circular frame.
Prepare the evergreens by removing the lower leaves to expose a clean stem. Select the evergreens you would like to use and make these into small bunches, wrap florist wire around the bottom of the stems so each individual bunch is secure. Make sure you have enough small bunches to cover the wreath. If you are using pinecones, use florist wire and tie around the bottom of the pinecone and secure this to the evergreen bunches. You can also tie in rosehips or any other decorations.
To assemble the wreath, place one small bunch at the top of the wreath. Tie in the stem end of the bunch using the metallic wire. Ensure the wire is tight as you tie bunches on to the wreath. Cover the stem end of each bunch that you have just tied to the wreath with the next bunch. So you are covering all the stem ends from the last bunch. Continue until the wreath is covered, secure the wire end and make a strong hook. Use the ribbon to make a bow and attach to the wreath at the top.
