Mrs R Pershore

Our client had recently moved into a new house and wanted the garden to have a lawn surrounded by borders. We also noted the aspect of the garden and completed a soil test. We discussed with our client, suitable plants a mixture of shrubs, herbaceous plants, ground covering plants, roses and clematis.

We cut out the turves and sculptured the borders giving a wave effect running along the top corner of the lawn. The borders were dug over and planted with an assortment of herbaceous plants and shrubs. Our clients like to entertain so the two patio areas were important feature within the garden. At the front of the first patio a border was cut out and filled with highly scented lavender plants.

Another border was also cut out near the second patio area and fence and planted with fragrant jasmine, roses, honeysuckle, assortment of herbaceous and ground cover plants. Trellis was attached to parts of the fencing so climbing plants could be planted giving extra height and colour. On the opposite side of the garden, trellis was erected on a brick wall to soften the starkness of the wall. The trellis was planted with a selection of climbing plants. A circular border was also incorporated into the lawn area as a focal point and planted with a mixture of iris and roses.
